Ceram-a-Lama WOW!

It's after midnight, the house is quiet and I sit with my cup of tea thinking of so many crafty things I would still love to learn... then I come across these wonderful gems and then I think, "where's my credit card?"

Two Roosters Mug by Evebehar (above)
This mug goes PERFECTLY with my Kitchen Decor!
Ok Eve, I'll be sending the url to my husband - as an early birthday gift (for me!).

Prettyrandomobjects has a set of 3 Vases that are wonderful! (above)
Group them together, they make a great impact or for variety, move them around your habitat and then when your mother visits, she'll think you're always buying vases!

The photo just reminds me of a summer morning, breezy with the smell of fresh cut grass; having a lovely cup of coffee and reading the Wall Street Journal - who am I kidding, get me that Us Magazine with a People on the side!

I had better try and get more hours at work, because sitting at home is going to be getting REAL EXPENSIVE!! :D

Bead For Life

Although the weather outside is rainy and pretty miserable, I received a really great item in the mail today.

A week ago, I read about this wonderful organization Bead for Life.  Bead for Life is a non profit organization providing impoverished Ugandan women an opportunity to lift their families out of poverty by making beaded jewelry out of recycled paper.

For a brief history:  Bead for Life began with an encounter between a Ugandan woman, who was rolling beads near her mud home, and the founders.  The women learned that there wasn't a market for her jewelry and that the Ugandan woman worked for a dollar a day in a rock quarry.  They admired the beads and bought a few.
When friends in the States admired the beads, the women realized that there might very well be a market here.
(To read the full history of BeadforLife click here....)

I must say that my three strand necklace is a really lovely color of turquoise and I will be wearing it with great pride.
Check out the website just to see some of the marvelous things these women are accomplishing!  :D

Happy Easter!

First, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Spring & a very Happy Easter.

This Easter, as with every holiday, I always like to give all the ladies in my family a little gifty.  Usually, I make them ornaments, then try and find a way to gift it up, just a bit more!

As I was just browsing around Etsy, I found the Moxie Sisters.  They have a lovely shoppe.  They have many vintage items along with these chalk board flower pots.

I took the picture before I wrote on the pots, sorry.  It would have given a better idea of their use.  I just LOVE trying to find every day items to use as gift containers.  These flower pots hit the mark.

They made great gifts.  I placed a few of my Bunny/Chick sticks in them with some flower seeds and of course that pompom chick!
I'm so happy it all came together in time!  :D

Peep, Peep - Finished Chick

Just wanted to post the picture of the finished Chicky!  Everyone loved them and I was really happy about that!

Easter Chicks for my Peeps!!

After watching an old Martha Stewart show and chicking out, or I mean, checking out my friend, Dees blog... I really got in the mood to make a few chicks for my family Peeps!!

Here they are, just on the kitchen table... bumping into each other!  I left them without eyes for a day and my did they get into trouble!!

They did grow some tail feathers during their time of waiting for some eyes.
After rooting aroudn for some black beads for their eyes, I gave them the eyes that they rightfully deserved!

There's always one in the group...
This little guy went off on his own and I had to go after him to put his eyes on... he was almost out the front door.  How he unlocked it, I'll never know!

I lost the finished photo and will add it later...
I would like to wish all those wonderful Chicks out there a Happy Spring Holiday! :D
